We have scheduled the
Masses for First Holy Communion. We look forward to our children receiving Our
Lord in this sacrament for the first time. The emphasis is their encounter with
Christ in this sacrament for the first time.
It will look and feel
very different with the precautions that the Diocese requires and that we need
to protect one another. We are to follow the Bishop’s guidelines.
Each Mass has limited
seating. People may choose which day and Mass, but the limits and guidelines
are strict. When the limit is reached, there can be no more at that Mass.
People over 65 years
of age should not attend.
Everyone—including the
First Communicants—(except those under two years of age) must be masked.
Spatial distancing of
six feet must be observed at all times.
Because of spatial
distancing, each family may bring a total of four people: the First Communicant
and three other persons. There will not be space for others while observing
spatial distance.
The families and First
Communicants come directly to the church, where they will be seated.
There is no rehearsal.
The First Communicants will be seated before Mass. They will be guided up for
communion and back. There is no procession.
There will be no gathering,
no procession (entrance, offertory, or recessional).
The singing will be
limited to a cantor and instrumental.
If there is a group
photo, it will be outside on the church steps. Everyone will be at least 6 feet
from other persons.
Confessions are heard
on Saturdays,11:00 a.m.—12:00 noon and 3:30 p.m.—4:30 p.m.
To sign up for a Mass,
