Bishop Rhoades will be leading a prayer service of a tree lighting entitled, An Evening of Heavenly Lights to celebrate the lives of our departed loved ones during the Advent season and prepare our hearts for Jesus’ coming as the Light of the World. It will be held on the first Sunday of Advent, Nov. 29, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the service will be outdoors. CDC guidelines will be following and facial coverings will be required. It will also be livestreamed.
Luminarias will light the walkway in the Cathedral plaza during the service. Each luminaria will have a flickering flameless candle that represents the light of a departed loved one and will include the name of the loved one printed on the bag.
